A strong magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit Davao Occidental province on Sunday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake struck at 5:06 p.m. with the epicenter estimated 30 kilometers southwest of Sarangani town in Davao Occidental.
The agency noted that the tremor’s depth was at 187 kilometers below the surface.
Phivolcs said the quake was felt at Intensity 2 in Davao City, Davao del Sur; and Glan town in Sarangani province.
It also monitored Instrumental Intensity 2 at General Santos City in South Cotabato province.
Phivolcs said there was no casualty or damage reported from the tectonic quake.
However, it expects aftershocks from the tremor.
